Just Roxie / Roxie Watson
Just Roxie is a Decatur, Georgia, Americana trio built on close harmony. Becky Shaw, Lenny Lasater (bass) and Linda Bolley (guitars, banjo) weave classic country, folk, bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll into warm, unpretentious songs about love and heartache, friendship and loss, often joined by Dawn Shaw on fiddle. Their debut album, We Missed You, was released in November 2021, and they play regularly at Eddie's Attic and festivals around Atlanta.
Becky sings and plays guitar, lap steel, harmonica and button accordion.
Before Just Roxie, there was Roxie Watson. Formed in Decatur in 2007, the all-female, five-piece “alternagrass” band blended bluegrass, country, rockabilly and blues, with members trading lead vocals rather than following a single front-person. The name honors two members' grandmothers, Roxie Johnson and Mary Watson. Becky (lap steel, harmonica, button box, acoustic guitar) played alongside Beth Wheeler, Lenny Lasater, Linda Bolley and Sonia Tetlow on four albums: True Stories (2010), Of Milestones & Moon Pie (2012), Songs from Hell's Hollow (2014) and Try a Little Kindness (2017). As the lineup changed, the band carried on as Just Roxie.
