Reversing Hour
Reversing Hour was an Atlanta alternative band whose sound moved between indie rock and melodic alt-pop. Becky joined after a major lineup change, alongside Jeff Norem, Mike Poteet and Steve Dixon, and soon became central to the band's live shows.
Her biggest studio work with the band is the 1996 album Life Without Television. Becky sang and played keyboards, accordion and flute on it, and co-wrote several of its songs. One of them, "Wounded Knee," features backing vocals by Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls.
STB
STB was a hard-driving, punk-inspired rock trio from Atlanta. Singer-guitarist Sonia Tetlow fronted the band, with Lee Kennedy, and Becky Shaw on drums. The band released two albums, Spit (2000) and Swerve (2001). Becky and Sonia later played together again in Roxie Watson.
Jesus Christ Superstar: A Resurrection
Released in 1995 on Amy Ray's Daemon Records, Jesus Christ Superstar: A Resurrection is a 25-song double album that reimagines the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera through the Atlanta music scene. Conceived by Michael Lorant of Big Fish Ensemble, who recorded and produced it with Rob Gal, the album casts Amy Ray as Jesus and Emily Saliers as Mary Magdalene, with Lorant as Judas, Kelly Hogan as Simon Zealotes and a deep roster of the city's songwriters and players. Proceeds from the album continue to fund gun violence education projects.
Becky sang in the ensemble and joined the touring cast, performing at Atlanta's Variety Playhouse, at SXSW in Austin, and in Seattle and San Jose.
